New Yorker in Tondo & The Fabulous Adventure of Amelie Poulain
The play New Yorker in Tondo and the movie Le Fabuleux Destin D’Amelie Poulain (The Fabulous Adventure of Amelie Poulain) are fun to watch. Especially because they are comedy and I love comedy. In the play New Yorker in Tondo, the characters play their role very well. Also their lines are, like, not scripted. They deliver their lines as if they were just having a normal conversation. And what I liked about the play was they were able to make their audience laugh, they made me laugh. They know where to deliver their punchlines and when to deliver it. What I observed is that, they were able to tickle their audience because the audience is watching it live, and also in their play, some scene doesn’t match with their dialogue. The words that they say do not suit the scenario, like they are fighting with each other and yet the words they say was humorous and also they act silly, doing unnecessary stuffs. I guess this kind of an act make an effective comedy play. As for the movie, it is funny. Like the play, some scene of the movie does not match with the dialogue, which makes it funny. There are also some scenes that are weird and it is like, the director just fit it in. The characters also do some silly stuff that an ordinary man wouldn’t do. That, I think, makes an effective comedy. What I think is that people wants to see something weird or new to them. And also, the effects in the movie contribute a lot to make it funny. Both the play and the movie are funny and it is worth watching.
Core Values
Core values, what are they? These are the values or principles that is so important to you. The values that you will carry on through out your life. Values that you prioritize the most. One of my personal core values is having fun all the time. I am here to have lots of fun. I love keeping myself busy doing things that I want. Spending my time playing computer games or playing some sports with my peers or even hanging out with them. Hanging out with your peers is very enjoying. Going out to the mall, hanging out in the park, going everywhere as long as we still have our feet, kung san man tangayin ng hangin ika nga. And also you meet new friends too. Time waits for no one, time is gold so why bother being alone and doing nothing? Instead, go out there and see life, live life. I may be goofing off a lot but I also take things seriously. But, honestly, taking things too much seriously is quite boring and you get stressed all the time. You can take things seriously but not too much, you'll get old fast. Another thing that I value most are the people that surrounds me, these are my family and friends. I value them. Of course I don't want to live alone all by myself. I don't want to die alone. Who will cry in my funeral? HAHAHA. I cherish every moment that I'm with them. Every second counts. I give importance to the bond that we made. The bond that will never break. These are the people that you can lean on when you got some problems going on within you. You can always count on them. Not only my family and friends that I value, I also cherish the new friends I made. And of course I keep the old ones. Like they say, "make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other's gold." So these are just some of my personal core values.
Have you ever had compromise any of these values for someone else's sake? Well, there came a situation in my life that my parents told me to take my life seriously. Just like what I mentioned earlier, I love having fun all the time. So they told me that I'm taking some things for granted, that I'm having too much fun, not taking things seriously. That time, maybe all they see is that I'm having fun all the time, yeah it's true but even though I'm goofing off a lot, what they didn't notice is that I also take things seriously. Well, having fun is one of my core values. I can't take that away from me. This is what's important to me. I will have this value and I will carry this through out my life. As for the people that surrounds me, I haven't got into a situation that I will turn my back away from them, that I'll give them up. And even if that situation comes, I would not give them up. Well, it's because these people are important to me. These are the people that I turn in during my downfall. These people are priceless. I wouldn't trade them for anything.

"Simpleng simple lang ang operasyon na ito, Jig," sabi ng lalake. "Para ngang hinde operasyon ito."
Tumingin ang babae sa lapag kung san nandoon ang mga paa ng lamesa.
"Alam ko naman na hinde ka mag-aalala, Jig. Wala naman ito. Para lamang mahanginan."
Hinde nagsalita ang babae.
"Sasamahan kita at lagi lng akong nasa tabi mo sa lahat ng oras. Papahanginan lamang nila ito at magiging maayos na ang lahat."
"Pagkatapos nun, anu ang gagawin natin?"
"Magiging maayos tayo pagkatpaos noon. Parang dati lang."
"Paano mo naman nasabi yon?"
"Yun lang naman ang sumasagabal sa ating dalawa. Yun lang naman ang hinde nagpapasaya sa atin."
Tumingin ang babae sa kurtina, nilabas ang kanyang mga kamay at hinawakan ang dalawang tali ng kurtina.
"Sa tingin mo ba, pagkatapos nito ay magiging maayos at masaya tayo?"
"Oo naman. Wag kang matakot. Marami akong kilalang tao na nagawa na ito."
"Ako rin naman," sabi ng babae. "At pagkatapos nun, silang lahat ay masaya."
"Pero," sabi ng lalake, "kung ayaw mong gawin wag mong gawin. Hinde naman kita pipilitin kung ayaw mo. Pero alam ko simple lang ito."
"At gustong-gusto mo?"
"Sa palagay ko ito ang tamang gawin. Pero ayaw kong gawin mo kung ayaw mo talaga."
"At pagginawa ko ba magiging masaya ka at lahat ay magiging ayos na at mamahalin mo ako?"
"Mahal kita. Alam mo yan."
"Alam ko. Pero pagginawa ko ito, magiging maayos na ulit pag sinabi ko na ang mga bagay ay parang puting elepante, at iyo bang magugustuhan?"
"Magugustuhan ko. Gusto ko pero hinde ko maisip. Alam mo naman kung paano ako mag-alala."
"Pag ba ginawa ko, di ka na mag-aalala?"
"Di ako mag-aalala dahil ito ay simple lang."
"Edi gagawin ko. Wala naman akong pakealam sa sarili ko."
"Anung ibig mong sabihin?" "Walang pakealam sa sarili ko."
"Kasi, nag-aalala ako sa iyo."
"Alam ko. Pero wala akong pakealam kung anu man ang mangyari. Gagawin ko ito at lahat ay magiging maayos na."

Today, i'm gonna show you the differences or the opposites of "Soccer" from "Basketball." They are both team sports and they are played with a ball, but in different style. Both have different styles of playing the game. Both have their opposites.

Both are team sports so they consist lots of players, but in soccer, there are 11 players of each team inside the field while in basketball, there are 5 players of each team inside the court.
In terms of the field or court, the game soccer is played on a rectangular field of "grass" or green artificial turf. On the other hand, basketball is also played on a rectangular court, but this time, it's not covered with grass. It can be a cemented floor or an hardwood one (the ones that are used in NBA and other basketball leagues). And also both court came in different size, soccer's court is bigger and wider than the court of basketball.

Yes, they are both played with a ball but in soccer, you use your feet to dribble the ball and in basketball you use your hands to take control of the ball. In terms of scoring/gaining points, you shoot the ball into the hoop for basketball, and for soccer you kick the ball right into the goal.

For their uniform and equipment, the soccer players wear t-shirts or long sleeves, can't see them wear jerseys like the basketball players wear, which has no sleeves at all. And also the soccer players wear different kind of shoes. They wear spiked-shoes which are good to wear when you are playing in a field of grass. And for the basketball, they wear, well, basketball shoes. It can be a high-cut or low-cut shoes. It depends on the player where he is more comfortable.

And also, when it comes to fouls, referees warned the players of soccer by giving them colored cards and while in basketball, the players are given 5 chances to commit fouls, some leagues give 6 fouls to be committed. In soccer, you will be fouled out when you are given a red card and in basketball, you are fouled out (or graduate) when you reach the limit of the given fouls.

The story "Dead Men's Path" is about a man named Obi who was appointed as the new headmaster of Ndume Central School. He now had the chance to show the people what he can do in running a school. Together with his wife, they ran the school pretty good and made some changes that beautify the whole school. After admiring his works, he then saw this faint signs of almost disused path which he thought that this "path" would be an, somehow, ugly spot or scenery to his school. So he decided to put up a fence and close the "path." What he doesn't know is that, that "path" he just closed is a part of the village's tradition. That "path" is very important to the villagers and somehow it connects the village shrine with their place of burial. So what happened in the end, a priest talked to Mr. Obi to open the path again so there will be no conflict BUT Mr. Obi insisted on opening the path again. What happened is that the villagers get mad and destroyed all his hard works on that school.
So basically, the story is about the new versus the old, the modernization of things versus the traditions that's been practiced for many years. The story focuses on the importance of tradition. Because, as we all know, tradition is always being practiced and no one can just take that away. Tradition has been a part of the living of people.
Chinua Achebe's place in Africa, their African culture has been colonized by the European but still they practiced their old tradition. They didn't give up on their possessions (culture) because it is important to them. Like in the Philippines, we all know that modernization is now the trend of the nation, wala ngang nagpapahuli sa uso ika nga. But even though modernization is being done, we still practiced our old tradition, like saying "po" and "opo" to the elderlies, eating together at the table with the whole family, and even those superstitious beliefs are also being practiced up until now (maybe some of them), and other stuffs. So you see, even the "new" came in still we can't take away the "old". We can't just forget them because the "old" is also the reason who/what we are now.

In his third game, his first home game, he tied a franchise record with nine steals, and became only the second player in NBA history to get nine assists or more in each of his first three games. Mrs. Mallard or Louise died out of joy after seeing her husband alive coz' she thought her husband died during the railroad accident but what she don't know, her husband was far away from the accident and didn't even know that there was an accident. By the time Mrs. Mallard heard about news, she was depressed at first that she can't handle the pain. This may be the cause of her heart disease to get worse. But then she realized that she will be free, she kept whispering to herself "free, free, free." But after seeing her husband alive, her heart rate probably went up due to the over joy that she felt that cause her death.

The Devil Wears Prada is an American metalcore band from Dayton, Ohio, Formed in 2005, they are currently signed to Warner Music Group. The Devil Wears Prada is a Christian band consisting of members Mike Hranica (vocals), Chris Rubey (lead guitar), Jeremy DePoyster (rhythm guitar, vocals), Andy Trick (bass), Daniel Williams (drums) and James Baney (keyboards), all of whom are Christians.
How they formed the name of the band:
Despite speculations that the band named themselves after the film with the same title, it was actualized that they were formed before the film was released. They have explained that their band name is based on an anti-materialistic mindset and derived their name from the novel, The Devil Wears Prada. At the time of naming the band, the members assumed that the novel included anti-materialism as its moral, until later discovering that the novel did not feature this as its message at all. Despite making this mistake, the band members refused to change the name and decided that they created a new meaning behind the title "The Devil Wears Prada", within the terms of it being their band name.
"It's the same concept as our lyrics 'emeralds hold no hope' and many others. What we believe it to mean is that possessions don't matter at all and someday everyone will realize that this is true. When standing before God, he won't care about your sweet Prada scarf or Gucci shoes or whatever. It's a Christian reasoning for the name, we didn't name it to attempt at being fashionable or whatever."

This band is my all-time favorite band. I love the way they perform on stage and they are good at handling the crowd , making the crowd go wild. And this band is not just a metalcore type of band, they are christian metalcore band.
I love any kind of music especially hardcore type. Coz' this genre of music is like, full of energy in it. When you listen to it, it's like the energy just burst in you. And also I love the sounds of the intruments and the screaming of the vocalist. The best part of it is the breakdown, where you headbang with it.

This story is about a doctor and his patient which is a little girl. I won't go too long for the plot of the story. I'm gonna keep it short. So here it goes.
The doctor arrived at the house of his patient. There he saw his patient sitting on the lap of his father and that patient is a little girl. The parents where worried about their child for being sick, having a fever for three days and they don't know where it comes from. The doctor seems to know what the problem is. The child might be having a soar throat so he asked the parents if their child's throat hurt her but the patient answered no. The reason why the doctor asked about the throat is that there have been cases of diphtheria. To make sure of it, the doctor would like to see Mathilda's throat, who is the little girl. First, they asked her in a professional manner and in a kind way to open up her mouth. But Mathilda refused to. The doctor tried again and still his patient won't budge. And the time come when the doctor got pissed off cause the girl won't cooperate. Because of his determination to find out the problem with the girl, and the anger he had from the patient's ignorance, resulted him to use some force when it came to opening up the girl's mouth. He talked to the parents that they need to cooperate with him to use some force and both of the parents agreed with him. And there they go, they forced little Mathilda in opening her mouth and there they saw it, Mathilda is having a soar throat which cause her illness.
Reflection:
I think it is bad forcing a patient to do what the doctor wanted. There may come a time that the patient would be traumatize and don't want to see a doctor again. And also it is hard for the little girl too, maybe the girl is too afraid for her parents or even the doctor to know what's her little secret is.
As for the little girl, I think it would be best for her if she had cooperate with the doctor rather than fighting back and being defensive. It just make the matter worst. Now she had to pay the consequences.
